Research
The mission of Recycling Engineering Laboratory is to develop various kinds of attractive biological wastewater and waste treatment technologies, which may help sustainable economic growth especially in Asia. To meet the needs which may vary depending on countries/ regions, most of the research performed here are joint projects with key international/domestic sectors. The following is the list of the research topics currently being investigated in the laboratory:
1. Low-cost septage treatment systems (Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (VN)).
2. Industrial wastewater treatment (VN government).
3. Mathematical models fort growth and decay of nitrifying microorganisms (Consulting company (CA)).
4. Innovative biological treatment module (Engineering company (JP)).
5. Low-cost drinking water treatment systems (Kitakyushu municipality (JP)).
6. Upgrading municipal wastewater treatment systems (Engineering company (JP)).
7. High-rate anaerobic digestion process (Engineering company (JP)).
8. Resource recovery from agricultural wastes (Prince of Songkla University, Thaksin University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (TH)). 
9. Phytoremediation of salinised farmlands in Uzbekistan (National University of Uzbekistan, JICA-JST).
